Shop Grading

Designed for the ‘industry by the industry’

The Australian Motor Body Repairers Association (AMBRA) and the Motor Trades Association of Australia (MTAA) is pleased to release the updated National AMBRA Shop Grading Program 2018.

The National AMBRA Shop Grading Program 2018 is a program designed ‘for industry by industry’ to provide minimum standards for the motor body repair industry across multiple business models.

The updated AMBRA Shop Grading Program 2018 includes newly validated industry designed and developed shop grading standards developed in consultation with motor body repair businesses and industry experts.

For many years, the industry has been told by insurers what equipment and business processes they must have before they can repair their vehicles. In addition, most insurers have different policies which give industry no clear guidance on required workshop standards. The AMBRA Shop Grading Program 2018 reduces this uncertainty and provides clarity for motor body repair businesses.

The AMBRA Shop Grading Program 2018 provides motor body repair businesses the opportunity to assess their operations against criteria that includes: business operations, workshop area and equipment criteria, paint and refinishing requirements, recycling standards, employee skills/certification etc.
